At first they found the ghosts to be friendly, he moved objects around the house to the amusement of the family. I love Poltergeist and I agree with you Albert and Nadia. I grew up watching movies from the 70s and 80s era and I think they always feel more magical. Although part of that sensation could be nostalgia!
