When an Arizona family set up security cameras to protect their home, they had no idea what kind of strange, spooky stuff they would soon be capturing on film.

An unnamed homeowner submitted a few photos to MUFON after something chilling happened to him late at night.

The man says he was getting ready to shut down his computer before bed when one of his motion detectors sounded off the alarm.

Just to be on the safe side, he decided to pull up the camera software to see if there might be an intruder lurking outside of his family’s home.

At first, he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary on the footage—until he checked a special folder that holds camera stills.

That’s when he saw this eerie-looking flash of light leaving glowing trails right in front of his family’s house:

Naturally, the man assumed he had just caught a firefly on camera, but a little research proved him totally wrong.

After doing some digging, he discovered that fireflies don’t usually leave trails of light like the one he saw on his security camera.

Though he can’t say what this is for sure, the man now believes his security system might have caught something supernatural on camera.
