This is difficult to watch: a graphic fantasy horror about women who are imprisoned and exploited as a resource — for their milk.
They have been kidnapped and trafficked, and are held captive in cages. Their bodies are attached to milking machines, forcefully inseminated, their young males are killed at birth.
Paula, one of the imprisoned woman, stage a revolt against their human captors.
‘The Herd’ is a brutal allegory about the horrors inflicted upon cows in the dairy industry. It’s known as the first feminist vegan horror film, and certainly worth watching — even if you have to flinch — and as food for thought.
